Hi, I’m Florian Bögge.
I’m the founder of Kona Endurance: a premium coaching practice built around smart training, real life, and long-term performance.
I work with endurance athletes who want more than a generic plan. They want clear thinking, honest feedback, and coaching that adapts to their goals, schedule, and reality.
Founder Story
My journey in endurance sport began at the Olympic Training Center as a young, ambitious athlete. From there, I raced at a high level in cycling and later in professional triathlon, learning what high performance really demands—not just physically, but mentally too.
But sport also forced me to adapt. At the peak of my career, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. That changed everything. I had to stop thinking only in terms of pushing harder and start learning how to train smarter.
That experience shaped how I coach today.
I believe endurance training should make you stronger, not smaller. It should build fitness, confidence, and resilience without taking over your whole life. That is why Kona Endurance is built around a simple idea: real progress comes from smart structure, honest feedback, and a plan that fits the athlete in front of you.
Now I coach athletes across triathlon, cycling, running, and trail—from ambitious age-groupers to experienced competitors—helping them train with more clarity, perform with more confidence, and stay in the game for the long haul.
Why athletes work with me
High-level experience
Former pro cyclist and triathlete with firsthand experience of what real endurance performance demands.
Practical coaching
I combine science, testing, and structure with judgment, communication, and real-world adaptation.
Long-term perspective
I care about durability, not just short-term peaks—fitness that lasts, decisions that make sense, and training that works with life.
Human understanding
I’ve lived through setbacks, injuries, doubt, and reinvention. I coach with that in mind.
Bilingual coaching
I work with athletes in both English and German.
What I believe about coaching
Good coaching is not about throwing more volume at a problem.
It is about understanding the athlete clearly, finding the real limiter, and building a system that creates consistent progress over time.
That means:
training built around real life, not fantasy weeks
enough structure to move forward, enough flexibility to adapt
clear feedback, not noise
performance without burnout
long-term thinking over short-term heroics
Some athletes work with me through Private Coaching. Others come for a more hands-on experience through Performance Intensives in Kona or at their location. In both cases, the goal is the same: smarter decisions, better execution, and progress that lasts.
Who I work best with
I do my best work with athletes who are serious about improving and open to honest feedback.
That includes:
busy professionals balancing training with work, family, and travel
athletes preparing for triathlon, cycling, running, or trail goals
athletes returning from inconsistency, injury, burnout, or life change
athletes who want a coach they can trust, not just a template to follow
If you are looking for the cheapest plan or the most volume possible at any cost, I’m probably not the right fit. If you want thoughtful, high-level coaching built around real life, we’ll likely work well together.
No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just smart, science-based coaching designed for long-term success.
Beyond online coaching
For select athletes, I also offer private Performance Intensives in Kona or at their location. These are in-person coaching experiences built around technique, execution, testing, strategy, and memorable training days that go deeper than online coaching alone.
